Caribbean Princess - Cruise to Nova Scotia, Day Three and Four
Thu Aug 28 12:38:03 2008Our third day found us in port at the city of St. John in Canada. We toured the Reversing Falls, which is a portion of the river that reverses periodically. After wrapping up that scintillating journey, we moved on to Bar Harbor, Maine. We were tendered to shore that day, so we got a chance to see the outside of the boat up close from water level. We took a bus tour around the area which afforded some lovely views of the ocean.
Caribbean Princess - Cruise to Nova Scotia, Day One and Two
Mon Aug 25 15:16:21 2008The ship left out of Brooklyn and headed out to sea. We spent the first day on the boat, sailing to Nova Scotia. We arrived early in the morning on the second day of the cruise. While in Nova Scotia, we took a trip to Peggy's Cove which is now an artist's community situated on the coast.
Theatricum Botanicum
Wed May 7 15:24:40 2008These are few photos from the grounds of the Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum (http://Theatricum.com/). Every summer, it hosts a series of performances of Shakespeare's plays. The garden area is known for having samples of every flower mentioned in one of Shakespeare's plays.
During my visit, I only saw a few wildflowers and roses, but it's late spring so the venue hasn't started its season yet.
Flying Fortress over Topanga
Thu May 8 16:39:03 2008While I was walking along the beach, I got buzzed by this B-17 Flying Fortress. A little internet research led me to the home of the Nine-o-Nine, a B-17 that travels across country as part of the Wings of Freedom tour. You can take a flight aboard this particular bird at any of the locations scheduled (http://www.collingsfoundation.org/cf_schedule-wof.htm).
And Mother Nature showed up, trying to muscle in...
Moo Cards
Thu Mar 31 17:27:12 2005Moo.com is a company in Britain that does printing. They stared out with a product they call MiniCards. These are cards just a bit smaller than a business card with a picture on one side and text on the back. I prepared these 100 images for my first set of Moo cards to show off some of my photography.
